Did anyone besides me watch that scene in The Exorcist where Linda Blair levitated into the middle of the room and started spinning around and around, faster and faster, and the walls were covered with blood?
Sorry for such a gross introduction. That's what my kitchen looked like last night as I dropped about a pound of spaghetti and sauce from a height of 5 feet as I tried to put it into the fridge. Apparently my Tupperware container wasn't sealed airtight, like I thought.
Ugh. It took me a good HOUR to clean it up. It's still in the rug. Oh, yeah. I have CARPET in the kitchen. Just a nice little leftover from the 80's decor I have been slowly replacing. I'm planning on replacing the rug with some kind of laminate, but GEEZ. I mean, COME ON. Now I have a huge stain in the middle of the kitchen floor.
Other than that, just putting in summer here. It's been really hot for the last couple weeks - and I'm certainly NOT going to complain about that. It's cooling off in the evenings a little cooler than I like without a jacket, and I'll have to start changing into jeans at night soon.
I have an appointment with the Dept. of Homeland Security in Portland soon - re: my citizenship application. I'm looking forward to it. My mom is traveling with me and we'll get a chance to see some old friends (and maybe save some $$ since we might not have to go to a hotel). I can restock my Godiva chocolate stash and enjoy Starbucks a few times while down there.
Also planning a couple little road trips. Hubby is hoping to go to a conference in Boston in September, and I'd like to get to Nova Scotia this year. We'll see how it goes.
My brother got married last weekend. What an awesome party that was! It was so nice to see so many relatives and have a dance and a few drinks... it was a beautiful wedding and a really fun event.
