ode to summer
ahhhhh, summer. it seems like we didn't have a summer this year, and now it's been nice and really hot and humid here for about three weeks. the time of lilies, roses, and fresh cut green grass.... weddings and watermelon and pineapple and ice cold beer and babies and barbeques and bubbles and road trips and home improvement projects (do they EVER go away?).
i love summer. i'm really starting to hate winter. i don't totally hate it, i just hate how cold and long it is. it's kinda nice to get a reprieve from the insects and lawn mowing.
guess i'm feeling a little appreciative of summer - it's been a cold wet spring here.
i think i'll keep this entry short. there are other things on my mind, like the terrorist actions going on in london right now (i have friends there), my brother's wedding in a couple weeks, and my upcoming trip to portland for my civics exam and citizenship interview, but i know i can make this all go away with a piece of chocolate.
